i'm getting tipsy
guess what, i won my bid on ebay! i'm finally going to own that clearplan fertility monitor (at a fraction of the price). hope it won't take a long to arrive. it'd be useful for my next cycle.
i've received many helpful tips from well-meaning readers. my favourite ones so far:
* drink young coconut juice on the first day of your period - it supposedly works in widening your 'tubes'/cervical opening (supplement that with an occasional massage)
* mix aloe vera (remove skin first!) with warm water and drink the concoction every other day (i think every day is okay too). aloe vera leaf is available at sheng shiong supermarkets (or "singsong" to some). i think this improves blood circulation and overall health. but once period starts, all consumption of aloe vera must stop.
young coconuts might be a bit difficult to get. and on the first day of cycle at that. i think i might try out the aloe vera tip. it's more accessible (hey singsong's 5 mins away) and besides, i love aloe vera. take note, do not buy the ready-made sweetened version on the shelves.
psst, people who had problems conceiving actually conceived after practising the above tips for a short period of time.
well, it doesn't hurt to try. :)

whaddayanoe, i'm planning to try out BBT charting for my next cycle too (thanks to aliyah for the psychoing... muchos gracias)! ok here's a realllllyyyyy fantastic site that i found. u can download the chart and all!
http://www.fertilityuk.org/nfps25.html
but if you're too lazy-assed, simply go to www.fertilityfriend.com.... they will interpret the charting for you. :)
it's never a bad thing when it comes to understanding your body better. :)
OOPS. make that www.fertilityfriend.ORG

im 'inexperience' to comment on these things..but i do love reading up bout all the tips abt TTC...maybe will benefit me in the future!
and btw, i bukan teenager lagik ler...dah past R21 oredi...
erm..bleh saya "menyibuk" sket tak? hehe.. My fren recommended me & hub to take telur ayam kampung with madu for 6 days straight.. She said it's good and when u "bergaul" dgn yur hubby, the sperm will melekat with yur egg.. Sorry to hv mentioned it here... And I did try to eat tat accordingly no doubt rasa dia ada sket nya tak sedap.. Alhamdulillah, after taking tat plus urut session, I conceived within a mth... Tapi ni semua Allah nya kuasa jugak lah... :)
Regards,
Frina
susu jamal? telur ayam kampung? wah, so many tips! aku kaya!!
but eh.. susu jamal is very the "fadang fasirun". arab is just too far away daaa. hahaha. i can only imagine the taste!
telur kampung sounds sooo yucky. but old people say that yucky stuff are the ones that work. :X
dearest rouge, i bloghopped right into urs last year and have been religiously reading ur anecdotes.perhaps i could enlighten you on certain aspects of pregnancy. first and foremost, looking forward to it every month, hoping that ur menses will give it a miss this time round is definitely STRESSful. It can actually hamper ur performance literally as well as biologically.try this...lots of do'a and redha what Allah has given/not given you...try to relax and gain ur composure..stressing urself out is a No-NO...perhaps when u learn to wind down, at precisely the least expected time-voila! a baby in the making! Insya'Allah..you have my do'as aight? ;)
whatever effort one puts in will of course go hand in hand with the daily doas n prayers. that goes without saying, aye?
yes, i do understand that everything happens for a reason. maybe it's not the right time for me yet, that's why Allah belom mau kasi rezeki.
anyway, thanks a lot for your kind words. :)
errmmm the BBT charting is fairly easy except tat u hv to be disciplined in taking your temp. religiously each mrng...it'll b gd if u cud get a thermometer which gives a reading up to 2 dec places, tat way your temp. taking wud b more accurate...i'm still at it & it had become a daily routine for me...hahaha! ouhh btw, there's tis book tat i've read which i tink wud be useful...itz called "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler & u can purchase it from kinokuniya...
psst! rouge, do u mind if we link up on msn?
XXXGemXXX
yes, a digital basal thermometer would be best.
sure, link me up scottie! :) you know my email right?
msn me baybeh. :D
Did u ever think, at least once, that it cld be the hub cld be facing some issues? Low sperm count or ED? Mine does, the latter, and I am not fine with that. Helpless, cos it is harder for men to come to terms with their shortcomings.
oh yes, that crossed my mind. it can be an ego issue for many, but my dh is more than willing to go for a check up. it's just that i want to wait a while before we jump on that bandwagon.
but, erm, i can safely rule out ED. :)
hi sof! yup, i'm aware about the doas and surahs. my mum gave me a very helpful book about conceiving and pregnancy (the islamic way). there's surah maryam, yusuf and luqman too. all we can do is ikhtiar yah?
hi ... read abt the air kelapa muda ... i think u need to do more checking on that cos a makcik urut told me once that it doesnt help in promoting fertility. instead it's doing just the opposite.
I cannot remember any tips but I remembered reading a book that my sis-in-law lent me. Its called The Fastest Way To Get Pregnant Naturally by Christopher D.Williams
I find the book very useful and actually tried the recommendations that the author mentioned. You may wish to include that book in your reading list.
Also, another thing is to make lots of doas. Don think so much abt it and don stress yourself.
Go for a short trip somewhere. Sometimes a change of venue might help.
Good luck and my doas for you :)

Hiya Rouge, nak tanya what exactly is a basal digital thermometer and where did u get it frm eh? I asked at Guardian and they didnt hv it. What brand is urs and how much was it??
Dew
hi rouge!
try reciting this zikir. mudah2an amalan kita di bulan yg mulia ini di makbulkanNYA....insya-Allah.
"Yaa khaliqu Yaa baari Yaa musauwir."
Yang Maha Menjadikan, Yang Maha mencipta, Yang Maha membentuk.
Perempuan yg lama berhasrat memiliki anak bolehlah mewiridkan nama2 (Asmaul Husna) di atas sbg wirid harian.
ps: my spelling for the zikir may not be perfect but if u insist on the arabic ones, email me & I'll get it scan & send it to you. ;)
i haven't got my basal digital thermometer. it's simply a digital thermometerlah, not the mercury one. hmmm, it's not available at guardian? maybe you can try other places? if i manage to get hold of one, i'll write abt it k.
aliyah, ummi: thanks for the tip!
farizah, surah luqman is for intelligent babies. :) i am currently taking folic acid but not EPO. i'll wait for u on msn, k babes!
Girl don't stess urself.. my advice is don't think so much of it and sometimes the harder u work for it the harder its gonna work...so relax..buat bodoh and not to think much of it...
hello rouge,
whats the title for the book that ur mum gave to you? I tried looking for books on pregnancy which have the doas'. Went to the shop beside Masjid Kassim and also to Hj.Hashim shop but dont have.
it's "amalan-amalan semasa mengandung dan panduan menyambut cahayamata" by ustaz haji taib azamudden md taib & ustazah ngah puteh abdul shukor. my mum has forgotten where she bought it ('twas a long time ago!)
Hi rouge! Hello Dew!
U can purchase yr basal thermometer from Guardian pharmacy. I dont think Watsons has it....check out liao. Mine is a Japanese brand costing around $19++. When i was on a lookout for it, I actually went up to the Pharmacist to ask for one. They had it locked up somewhere in the shelf. Mebbe u shld ask for assistance if you cldnt anywhere. Good luck searching for it.
P/s: the thermometer came with the chart as well ;)
